Two Tompkins County residents were taken to the hospital after being involved in a two-vehicle collision in the town of Cortlandville Friday.
According to State Police, a Ford F350 with a gooseneck trailer driven by 27-year-old Eliv Muzaffarov, of Staten Island, was driving south on State Route 13 just after 1 p.m. when he allegedly failed to stop at a red light at the intersection with Lime Hollow Road. Muzaffarov collided with a Chevy TrailBlazer that was northbound and was attempting to turn left onto Lime Hollow Road. Muzaffarov’s F350 did overturn on to its side but he was not injured.
The driver of the Trailblazer, 67-year-old Jacqueline Carroll, of Groton, was taken to Upstate Medical Center, and her passenger, an unidentified 62-year-old Ithaca man, was transported to Guthrie Cortland Medical Center Memorial Hospital. The extent of their injuries was not disclosed.
Approximately four gallons of fuel from the F350 was spilled onto the grass and the DEC was notified.
State Police did not indicate if any tickets were issued.
