The investigation into what caused a two-car accident in Yates County Tuesday afternoon remains open.
The crash happened just before four at the intersection of Bath and Second Milo Roads. When first responders arrived, both cars were in the ditch on the southeast corner of the intersection with heavy damage. One of the drivers, 28-year-old Jeanette Kegreese, of Himrod, was extricated from her car and was airlifted by Mercy Flight to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment of face and internal injuries
The other driver, 64-year-old Katherine Roehlke, of Elmira, was taken to Soldiers and Sailors Hospital by Penn Yan Ambulance for non-life-threatening injuries.
Assisting the Yates County Sheriff’s Office at the scene were Penn Yan Ambulance, Penn Yan Fire, Yates EMS and New York State Police.
