Two finalists have been named to become the city of Ithaca’s first city manager.
Former longtime councilmember and current chief of staff Deborah Mohlenhoff and Ithaca Government Administrator Delancia Browning have been selected by a search committee, which will make its final recommendation to the Common Council on December 6th.
According to a job description from the city, the duty of the city manager is to “implement the policies established by Common Council and ensure that the city is operated in an economical and responsible manner.”
The finalist chosen is expected to begin in their new role on January 1st.
