Tompkins County Deputy Convicted of Perjury

In May, a Tompkins County Sheriff’s Deputy who swore to uphold the law will appear before a judge for sentencing after being found guilty of perjury in Tompkins County Court.

Zachary Starner, who has been on administrative leave from his job since his arrest over two years ago, was convicted of giving false testimony under oath in relation to a criminal trial that occurred four years ago.

The 36-year-old Starner will be sentenced on May 26th.
