Search is on for Suspect Who Assaulted Woman With a Handgun

An employee of a Franklin Street business was struck in the face with a handgun and police are looking for the person who did it.

The suspect came into the Ithaca business around 8 Sunday night looking for his girlfriend. When he couldn’t find her, the man became upset and allegedly struck a woman who was working in the face with a handgun. The suspect fled the area prior to the arrival of police. No description of the suspect was given but police say he should be considered armed and dangerous.

The victim was taken to a regional medical facility for treatment.
