    IMPACTS
    Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
    ADDITIONAL DETAILS
    There will be several periods of stronger winds, with this afternoon seeing strong southerly winds, then a break this evening, before stronger west wind develop tonight into Saturday.

Suspicious Vehicle Complaint Leads to Ithaca Investigation

Ithaca Police responded to the area of Richard Place and Sunrise Road at around 7:30 Monday night for a report of a suspicious vehicle in that area following two juvenile females. The complainant reported observing a white Dodge or Chrysler Minivan with unknown license plates, following the two girls. The van was reportedly being operated by a white male, of unknown age, with a beard, who was wearing a hat and a reflective safety vest. It was also reported that a 16-year-old girl, who did not appear to be in distress, was riding in the back of the van. The vehicle approached and passed the two girls multiple times, but no contact, either physical or verbal, was made.

Given the nature of the complaint, multiple Ithaca Police Officers saturated the west side of the City for an extended period of time in an attempt to locate the vehicle in question but were unsuccessful. This incident is under investigation and anyone with information is encouraged to contact Ithaca Police as soon as possible by any of the below-listed means.

The Ithaca Police Department would like to remind parents to encourage their children to continue taking safety precautions when walking unsupervised iithaca  our community. Children should walk in groups, have a means of communication if possible, and walk only in well-traveled and lit areas. Adults are also reminded to communicate with their children to ascertain their children’s whereabouts, plans, and expected arrival and departure.
