With winter upon us, the Steuben County Department of Public Works has officially begun its winter snow and ice maintenance operations.
With a fleet of 50 snow plows, each equipped to clear snow and spread salt, the DPW is prepared to ensure roads are as free as possible from snow and ice as possible to keep roads passible.
“We are committed to keeping our roads safe for all residents and travelers during the winter season,” said Eric Rose, Steuben County DPW Commissioner. “Our crews this winter will be out in full force to ensure that snow and ice are cleared quickly and efficiently, but we ask that drivers remain patient and aware while traveling.”
DPW is encouraging residents to use caution and give plows enough space while they are working.
