Unemployment for the first month of 2024 in Schuyler County was recorded at 5.9 percent. In November, the county’s jobless rate was 4.1 percent and increased to 5.3 percent in December.
Yates County’s unemployment for January was recorded at 4.3 percent, a slight increase from the 3.9 percent rate in December. Also for January, Steuben County’s unemployment rate was 5.1 percent, up from 4.5 percent in December, and Ontario County saw a slight bump to 4.2 percent. Tompkins County’s unemployment remained the same at 3.5 percent.
