Schuyler County residents can learn more this week on how to be ready when disaster strikes.
A Citizen Preparedness Training session will be held on Tuesday, starting at 5 p.m. at the Schuyler County Office of Emergency Management in Montour Falls. The state-run program teaches residents how to prepare for, respond to, and recover from natural or man-made disasters. Participants will learn how to create a family emergency plan, build a supply kit, and handle emergencies safely.
With severe weather becoming more frequent and more extreme, state officials say it’s more important than ever to be ready. Registration is required to attend the event.
