A community in Schuyler County will receive $1 million in federal funding to expand its water and sewer infrastructure.
The project in the town of Dix will connect more than 350 acres to municipal water and sewer lines, supporting new housing development and helping local businesses grow.
U.S. Senators Kirsten Gillibrand and Chuck Schumer secured the funding as part of a broader $2.25 million investment in Southern Tier water infrastructure, aimed at improving access to clean water and modern sewer systems for rural communities.
“This funding will help Dix residents and businesses access reliable water and sewer services, a key foundation for growth and community development,” Senator Schumer said.
Work on the project is expected to begin in the coming months and is expected to support both residential and commercial development in the town.
