Schuyler County Businesses Receive $160K in NY Forward Grants

Mayor James Ryan announced that three Montour Falls businesses have been awarded a total of $160,000 through the “NY Forward Small Business Fund”, a state-supported program aimed at supporting small business growth and sustainability.

The award letters were officially signed this week following a comprehensive review process. Applicants submitted detailed proposals to the Village Review Committee, which evaluated and ranked the submissions before forwarding recommendations to the New York State Department of State for final approval.

Each grant recipient is responsible for providing a local match to maximize the impact of the state funding. The program is administered locally by **Heritage Resources of Buffalo** on behalf of the village.

The selected businesses and their awards include:

Jerlando’s Pizza Corp. – $85,000
FLX Studio and Makers Market – $55,000
H.L. Stephens Furniture – $20,000

Mayor Ryan praised the recipients, saying, “These businesses not only contribute to our local economy but also reflect the creative energy and resilience that make our village a great place to live and work.”
