Standing at the Schuyler County Business Park in Watkins Glen on Tuesday, Senator Charles Schumer discussed a new federal bill he is working on to,” breathe new life into industrial sites across Upstate and bring good-paying manufacturing jobs back from overseas to the Southern Tier.”
Schumer said the ONSHORE Act will help deliver much-needed federal support for major site-readiness and workforce development as the country works to onshore critical industries like semiconductors. The Senate Majority Leader said sites like the Business Park are primed to take advantage of this new program and added a boost in federal investment could see Schuyler County and the Southern Tier lead what he calls the “revival of American manufacturing.”
With Tuesday’s stop in Watkins Glen, Senator Schumer said he has now visited Schuyler County for 25 straight years.
