The “Wall That Heals” will arrive in Penn Yan on August 6th at 3:30 PM with a motorcycle escort.
The “Wall That Heals” and the motorcycle escort of approximately 350 bikes will meet in the Bass Pro parking lot at the Finger Lakes Mall in Auburn at 1:00 PM on August 6th. They will depart the mall at 2:00 PM. The escort route will take them down Routes 5&20 through Seneca Falls at about 2:25 PM, Waterloo at about 2:35 PM, and Geneva at about 2:50 PM. The escort will continue on Routes 5 and 20 to County Road 5 where they will turn left toward Hall. The escort will go through Hall about 3:05 PM continuing onto Route 14A to Penn Yan. The expected arrival time into Penn Yan will be approximately 3:30 PM. The escort will continue down Liberty Street then turn right onto Lake Street, then onto Mace Street.
There will be a ceremonial renaming of Mace Street as “Vietnam Veteran’s Drive” to coincide with the arrival of the escort. It will be known as “Vietnam Veteran’s Drive” for the time The
Wall That Heals is in Penn Yan.
“The public is encouraged to come out and welcome the escort as it comes through your town,” said Douglas Gibbs, Director of Yates County Veterans Services Agency. “Businesses are encouraged to put messages on their signs welcoming The Wall That Heals even those not on the actual escort route.”

Wednesday, August 7th – 8:30 AM Setup starts. Takes 6-8 hours. The Wall That Heals is open 24 hours a day and admittance is free. Volunteer training for all volunteers is at 6 PM. There will be a Wreath Laying for Purple Heart Day by PY & Dundee Legions & VFWs.
Thursday, August 8th – The Wall That Heals is open 24 hours a day and admittance is free. 10 AM Welcome Home Ceremony
Friday, August 9th – Open for visitors. The Wall That Heals is open 24 hours a day and admittance is free.
Saturday, August 10th – Open for visitors. The Wall That Heals is open 24 hours a day and admittance is free. 8:30 PM Agent Orange Awareness Day Candlelight Ceremony.
Sunday August 11th – 1:45 PM Closing Ceremony. The Wall That Heals closes at 2:00 PM.
