A Rochester man escaped injury after police say the car he was driving went off the road and overturned down a steep embankment before coming to rest on its roof in a creek.
The accident happened at around 6:30 Tuesday night in Yates County. 72-year-old James Cotton, Junior, was attempting to turn left from Italy Friend Road onto Friend Road when he failed to see the curve.
Investigators with the Yates County Sheriff’s Office say rain and fog played a role in the accident.
The Yates County Sheriff’s Office was helped at the scene by the Branchport Fire Department and Penn Yan Ambulance.
