Schuyler County has reportedly placed its Administrator on leave.
The Odessa File reports Fonda Chronis was placed on administrative leave this week for an unspecified reason and for an unknown length of time. County Legislature Chairman Carl Blowers will fill in for Chronis during his time away. Blowers did say Chronis’s absence was a personnel issue and not a situation in which charges have been filed.
The county’s website has removed Chronis’s name and lists the County Administrator position as being vacant.
Chronis took over from Tim O’Hearn, who retired at the end of 2021 after 17 years in the position. Before coming to Schuyler County, Chronis was the assistant to the County Administrator in the Albany Capital District.
