One local congressman is a founding member of a new caucus formed to help Americans lead healthier, longer lives.

The Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) Caucus aims to address rising rates of chronic diseases and obesity by promoting access to preventive care and affordable, high-quality food. Congressman Nick Langworthy, who represents Schuyler and Steuben counties in the House, says the Caucus will also work to support underserved and rural communities, ensuring that no family is left behind when it comes to achieving better health outcomes.

“Healthy food and access to quality medical care are essential for the long-term health of our communities,” said Congressman Langworthy. “In Western New York and the Southern Tier, we take pride in the hard work of our farmers and food producers who help put healthy, nutritious food on dinner tables across America. This Caucus will not only help ensure every community has better access to healthy food options but also affordable, quality healthcare so families can focus on living well and building strong futures. I’m proud to join this effort to work with the Trump Administration to make health a priority for all Americans.”

The caucus is led by Congressman John Joyce, M.D. (PA-13), and Congressman Lloyd Smucker (PA-11) in the House, as well as Senator Roger Marshall, M.D. (R-KS) in the Senate.
