There’s still time to register to take part in Celebrate Service…Celebrate Yates, the annual day of public service intended to help non-profit organizations, agencies, and residents throughout Yates County.
Now in its 26th year, CSCY will be held on April 27. The deadline to register is now Wednesday, April 16. Registration is open at keuka.edu/cscy.
Organized by a team from Keuka College and the Yates County Chamber of Commerce, along with community members, CSCY will see hundreds of volunteers assist with painting, raking, planting flowers, and similar community-building efforts for the region’s youth camps, churches, cemeteries, libraries, fire departments, and other community organizations.
Volunteers who register by April 16 will receive a 2025 CSCY T-shirt at check-in on the day of service. Groups, teams, and clubs are welcome but all members must sign up individually and note their group affiliation.
Volunteers are also welcome to walk in on the day of the event but are not guaranteed a T-shirt and will be assigned individual work placements.
CSCY begins with a free brunch in the Geiser Dining Commons in Keuka College’s Dahlstrom Student Center between 11 a.m. and 12:50 p.m. for all volunteers. A brief kickoff ceremony to celebrate the spirit of the day and recognize supporting sponsors will be held at 1 p.m. outside Dahlstrom before volunteers fan out to the work sites. Work should conclude around 4:30 p.m.
