A public hearing on the proposed 2025 Yates County Budget will be held later this month.
The $58.1 million spending plan carries with it a proposed tax levy of $16.1 million, which is a slight decrease from this year’s levy. Under the proposed budget, the tax rate per thousand dollars of assessed value will drop for the seventh straight year. If left unchanged following the public hearing, the tax rate would be $4.01, down $0.47 from this year.
The public hearing on November 21st will take place at 6 o’clock in the Legislative Chambers in Penn Yan.
