A Port Gibson man will spend six months in jail after pleading guilty in Yates County Court to felony sexual abuse and attempted criminal sex act charges.
The Yates County District Attorney’s Office reports Thor Baker accepted an Alford plea, which means the defendant in a case doesn’t admit to a crime but concedes he could be convicted at trial. The 40-year-old was arrested in the summer of 2020 after it was alleged he assaulted a minor in the town of Italy.
Baker will also receive 10 years of probation and will have to register as a sex offender when sentenced in March.
