Police Tip Line Helps Report Underage Drinking Parties in Schuyler County

SHARE NOW

With summer here and high school graduation parties taking place over the next several weeks, the Schuyler County Coalition on Underage Drinking and Drugs (SCCUDD) is partnering with the Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office to promote the Tip Line to report underage drinking. SCCUDD and the Sheriff’s Office would like to remind the community if you suspect underage drinking or other illegal activity, please call the Tip Line at 607-535-8224. Community members can also call the Sheriff’s Office at 607-535-8222 if they want to make a report.

“Preventing underage drinking and other drug use helps children and teens grow into healthy adults,” shared Jill Kasprzyk, Public Health Director for Schuyler County and member of SCCUDD. “Research shows that people who start drinking before they are 15 are more than five times likelier to develop an alcohol use disorder later in life compared to those who wait until the legal drinking age.”

If you have information about underage drinking parties or other illegal activity, please call the Sheriff’s Tip Line at 607-535-8224. The information you provide will be used by the Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division to help them investigate crime in the community. For emergencies, call 911.

SCCUDD is a group of dedicated community members, businesses, and agencies that work to prevent, reduce, and delay the onset of substance use among Schuyler County youth by collaborating with our community partners, promoting prevention education and substance-free activities, and implementing environmental strategies. SCCUDD works to reduce youth use of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs as they can cause lifelong problems. SCCUDD’s vision is a connected community where youth have education, resources, and drug-free options to help their journey to become happy, healthy adults.
