Police Seek Info on Firearm Incident at Wegmans

Police are asking anyone who might have seen a man waving a firearm in the parking lot of the Wegmans on South Meadow Street in Ithaca Monday night to reach out to authorities.

After officers arrived on the scene at 9:30, they detained one person who fit the description of the suspect. That person was released after it was determined they were not involved in the incident. Additional efforts on Monday night to locate the suspect were unsuccessful.

Anyone who may have witnessed any part of this incident, or who has information regarding a man with a gun in the area of the Wegmans parking lot is asked to contact the Ithaca Police Department as soon as possible via any of the following means. Those who wish to remain anonymous may do so.
