Person Shot in Ithaca Overnight

SHARE NOW

A person was shot in the city of Ithaca early Wednesday morning.

Police were called to the 100 block of North Plain Street at around three o’clock for the report of people shouting and a gunshot being heard. Officers found blood in the area and determined that a suspect had forced his way inside of a residence and a dispute happened inside. Both the victim and the suspect, neither of whom was a resident, had fled the area prior to the arrival of officers.

The victim suffered a non-life-threatening injury and was taken to a regional hospital.

Ithaca Police tell us they are not releasing any more information at this time as the investigation is ongoing. They do say the shooting was not random and there is no reason to believe the general public is at risk.
