Penn Yan’s Main Street Hosts 38th Annual StarShine Saturday

SHARE NOW

The 38th Annual StarShine, a holiday tradition in the Village of Penn Yan, will occur on Saturday from 4:00-7:00 pm. New last year is the Lights on Wheels Parade in conjunction with Penn Yan FFA to kick off the weekend festivities happening tonight at 6:00 pm on Main Street in Penn Yan.

Saturday evening will be a variety of music, entertainment, food, vendors, colorful lights, holiday treats, activities for children, the crowning of Miss Penn Yan, and the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus.

A portion of the event will be designated for children’s activities including a petting zoo, wagon rides, a magician, face painting, and games. Visiting hours with Santa and Mrs. Claus will be from 4:30-6:00 pm at Community Bank. Elf School, held at the Penn Yan Firehouse, is hosted by our friendly elves from Keuka College. At the Elf School, kids will be able to grab cookie decorating kits to-go, make reindeer food, play games, and more. Penn Yan Theatre Company (PYTCo) will also have “An evening of Music and Lights” at The Sampson Theatre from 4-8 pm.

Get in the Christmas spirit by visiting local downtown merchants to find special gifts while supporting local businesses.

The 2023 StarShine event is sponsored by ServU Federal Credit Union, Lyons National Bank, Keuka College, Coplai Insurance Agency, and Penn Yan Community Health. This year’s donors are Lattimore Physical Therapy of Penn Yan, Village Drug & Water Street Pharmacy, Bank of the Finger Lakes, Dailey Electric, Wager’s Cider Mill, Community Bank N.A., and Penn Yan Fire Department.

WFLR’s Larry Timko will be the event’s emcee.
