Penn Yan Voters Decide Mayor, Trustees Today

Voters in the Village of Penn Yan will head to the polls today to decide several key local races, including mayor and three village trustee positions.

Voting will take place from noon until 9 p.m.

Four candidates are running for mayor:

  • Dan Condella, the incumbent mayor. He previously served as a village trustee and deputy mayor.
  • Leigh MacKerchar, a retired postmaster, currently serves as an elected legislator and has previously held roles as mayor and deputy mayor.
  • Dan Irwin, a retired law enforcement officer, most recently served as a village trustee.
  • Patricia Christensen, a former Milo town clerk, currently serves as county treasurer and CFO. She also works as the Town of Milo bookkeeper and interim deputy clerk.

Voters will also choose three candidates for village trustee. Those on the ballot include:

  • Teresa Hoban, the incumbent trustee, who also serves as a Town of Milo councilperson and works as a business owner and chiropractor.
  • Ron Dailey, an elected county coroner and telecommunications consultant, who previously served as a trustee.
  • Bill Wigsten, retired from UPS and the Penn Yan Village Water Department.
  • Robert Craig, a retired marketing and sales executive who has lived in Penn Yan for 13 years and is originally from Cambridge, Massachusetts.
