Penn Yan Police Names its 2025 “Officer of the Year”

The Penn Yan Police Department has named Sergeant Tyler Brzezinski as its 2025 Officer of the Year, honoring his leadership, professionalism, and dedication to both the department and the community.

Sergeant Brzezinski was selected for the award by his fellow officers, a recognition that reflects the respect he has earned within the department. In 2025, he was promoted to the rank of sergeant, further acknowledging his strong work ethic and leadership abilities.

Brzezinski was hired by the Penn Yan Police Department in 2021 after graduating from the Alfred State Police Academy. Prior to attending the academy, he attended Haverling High School in Bath, where he graduated in 2017. He later continued his education at Corning Community College and Saint Bonaventure University.

Known for his commitment to service, Brzezinski is frequently recognized for his willingness to pick up additional shifts and assist fellow officers whenever needed, exemplifying teamwork and dependability.
