A Penn Yan man has been sentenced for selling a drug to another person that led to their death more than two years ago.
Ted Miller pleaded guilty in Schuyler County Court to a felony charge of criminal sale of a controlled substance in June. Investigators say the consumption of that unspecified drug contributed to the death of Kimberly Owens shortly after the sale by Miller in March of 2022.
Schuyler County Chief Assistant District Attorney Jeremy Hourihan, who prosecuted the case, said Miller was sentenced to five years in jail and two years of post-release supervision.
