One person is dead following a one-car accident in Steuben County.
State Police say Lukas Ellsessor was driving north on State Route 371 in Cohocton just before 5 Wednesday afternoon when he passed another vehicle in a no-passing zone. The 31-year-old Ellsessor lost control of his 2017 Dodge Caravan drove off the road, and rolled over. The passenger, an unidentified 26-year-old man, was ejected from the Caravan and pronounced dead at the scene.
Ellsessor, who is from Angelica, was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital for minor injuries.
The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
The New York State Police were assisted by the Cohocton Police Department, Cohocton Fire Department, Atlanta Fire Department, Hornell DOT, and Kanona DOT.
