One person was taken to the hospital after a fire broke out at an apartment building in the 500 block of Lake Street in the city of Ithaca on Sunday.

When firefighters arrived on the scene at around 1 p.m., they found smoke coming from the roof. According to the Ithaca Fire Department, an aggressive investigation and attack located a fire in the ceiling and walls of a third-floor bedroom.
