The search for a permanent superintendent in the Odessa-Montour School District is being put on hold until 2024.
The Odessa File reports Tracy Marchionda, who took over in December on an interim basis following the resignation of Chris Wood, has been asked to continue in her role until items deemed significant operational matters can be addressed. Those matters identified by the Board of Education include capital improvements, budget development, and the challenges presented by the phase-out of federal grant revenue.
Marchionda, who lives in Penn Yan, is a former Dundee school teacher and has served in many roles in her career. She is a former Assistant Superintendent for the Geneva schools and was recently interim Director of Curriculum and Special Education at Hammondsport.
