A Schuyler County man faces up to 25 years in state prison after admitting he had sex with a child under the age of 11 and oral sex with a child under the age of 13.

Marcel Veilleux, of Odessa, also admitted in Schuyler County Court to additional acts of sexual abuse involving both victims over at least two years. The investigation in this case involved the execution of multiple search warrants to perform forensic analyses of devices owned by the 67-year-old.

According to the Schuyler County District Attorney’s Office, those warrants uncovered hundreds of sexually explicit photographs chronicling Veilleux’s sexual abuse of the children.

When sentenced in March, Veilleux faces up to 25 years in state prison on the rape and criminal sexual act convictions and up to two-and-a-third to seven years on the promoting a sexual performance by a child charges.

The lead investigative agency on this case was the Schuyler County Sheriff’s Department Criminal Investigation Division. Schuyler County CID was also assisted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the New York State Police.
The case is being prosecuted by Schuyler County Chief Assistant District Attorney Jeremy Hourihan.
