The Steuben County Department of Public Works has announced a new weight limit on the McChesney Road Bridge in the Town of Canisteo.
Effective immediately, the bridge above the Canisteo River between County Route 119 and Matt Dickey Road will have a maximum weight limit of 25 tons.
Officials say the change will help ensure public safety and protect the structural integrity of the bridge.
The department is reminding all motorists to adhere to posted weight limits and adjust travel routes accordingly.
