New Van Transport for Veterans Town Hall Meeting Tonight in Penn Yan

SHARE NOW

A town hall meeting with two separate purposes will be held tonight at the Yates County Office Building Auditorium.

A few weeks ago we told you that Johnson-Costello American Legion Post 355, the Yates County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 745, Penn Yan Moose Lodge, Penn Yan Elks Lodge, and Relative Risk Brewing worked together to purchase a new seven-passenger Ford Explorer by raising $21,000, which was donated to Disabled American Veterans Chapter 4. That organization then turned over the donation to the Department of New York Disabled American Veterans, which matched the funds. The D-A-V presented the Explorer to the VA Finger Lakes Healthcare System in Canandaigua in January.

Tonight, Yates County Veterans Services Agency Director Doug Gibbs is holding a town hall meeting to not only sign up Veterans to utilize this service but to sign up volunteer drivers as well. The new van will also be at the county office building.

This evening’s meeting runs from 6 until 8
