NASCAR Races Back Into the Finger Lakes

The NASCAR world is in the Finger Lakes this weekend. WFLR’s Rick Hughey will be at Watkins Glen International all weekend long and he provided us with this preview of the weekend.

Chip Wile is a Senior Vice President with NASCAR. He told Rick that fans are coming from all over to be part of this weekend’s races.

Finger Lakes Country WFLR (96.1, 96.9, 101.9 FM and 1570 AM) will broadcast all of the races from WGI this weekend starting with tonight’s ARCA race at 6.

Driver Ross Chastain has already been busy in Watkins Glen. In addition to this weekend’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Watkins Glen International driving the No. 1 Moose Fraternity Chevrolet, he’ll also be out among the race fans making several appearances.

On Thursday, Ross was in the courtyard at the Schuyler County Office Complex again talking about his “Protect Your Melon” campaign that reminds motorists in making sure they buckle up in both the front and back seats of their cars and drive safely. He will make a similar appear at the Tops Friendly Market in Watkins Glen today at 11.

The busy weekend off the track will continue on Saturday after the Xfinity Series race when Chastain will appear at the Moose Lodge, 2096 State Route 14, Montour Falls to sign autographs and visit with members at 7 p.m. At Watkins Glen on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. he will sign autographs at the New York DMV Highway Safety Booth in the fan midway.
