A Level Three sex offender from Steuben County, who was convicted in 1991, 1992, and 2001 of sexually abusing a person under the age of 11, is going away for the next ten years of his life on a child pornography conviction.
49-year-old John Fadden of Savona was sentenced in U.S. District Court Friday to serve 120 months in prison. In March of 2021, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received two cyber tip reports from Yahoo that Fadden, using his Yahoo email account, uploaded approximately 185 images of suspected child pornography.
In the fall of that year, authorities seized nine electronic devices and storage media and found approximately 278 images on those devices.
In 2013, Fadden was convicted of Sex Offender Fail to Report Change of Address/Status In 10 Days.
Friday’s sentencing is a result of an investigation by Homeland Security Investigations, under the direction of Special Agent-in-Charge Matthew Scarpino, and the New York State Police, under the direction of Major Brian Ratajczak.
