Keuka Names Speaker for Fribolin Lecture

SHARE NOW

A New York Times bestselling author and internationally recognized speaker on nutrition has been selected to deliver Keuka College’s 34th annual Carl and Fanny Fribolin Lecture.

Dr. Michael Greger will speak on the subject “How Not to Age” at 5 p.m. on March 25, at the College’s Norton Chapel. His presentation will focus on the common denominators among the diets and lifestyles of healthy, long-lived populations. A reception will immediately follow the lecture. Both the lecture and reception are free and open to the public.

Dr. Greger is a physician and founding member and Fellow of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. He’s recognized globally as an expert on nutrition, food safety, and public health issues and, in 2017, was honored with the ACLM Lifestyle Medicine Trailblazer Award.

He delivers his message of better living through lectures, essays, videos, and bestselling books including “How Not to Die,” “How Not to Diet,” and “How Not to Age.” He is also the founder of NutritionFacts.org, a non-commercial, science-based public service that provides free updates on the latest in nutrition research. All proceeds Dr. Greger receives from his books, speaking engagements, and DVDs are split between NutritionFacts.org and a donor-advised charitable fund from which Dr. Greger distributes to nonprofits that translate evidence-based nutrition into policy.

Dr. Greger will also be among the featured speakers at Keuka College’s Wellness Weekend at the Lake, which will be held on campus July 12-14. The three-day event will feature a diverse range of educational sessions, hands-on workshops, and interactive panel discussions designed to instruct and inspire attendees seeking to embrace a healthier lifestyle.

The Carl and Fanny Fribolin Lecture Series is named in memory of the late Carl Fribolin and his wife, Fanny. Carl was an emeritus member of the College’s Board of Trustees and recipient of an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree in 2004.
