Keuka College Awarded $350K in Grants for Campus Improvements

A trio of gifts and grants totaling more than $350,000 will enable Keuka College to enhance its on-campus laboratories, research spaces, and dining facilities.

The funding comes from the Jephson Educational Trusts, the New York State Higher Education Facilities Capital Matching Grants Program (HECap), and AVI Foodsystems, the College’s dining services provider.

The Jephson grant of $100,000 will be used for equipment to enhance laboratory space in the College’s Jephson Science Center. The HECap grant of $101,330 will be targeted toward upgrades in the College’s information technology sector. AVI’s gift of $150,000 will be used for dining hall upgrades.

“We appreciate the substantial investments from the Jephson Educational Trusts, the state, and AVI, which demonstrate a strong commitment to advancing our campus facilities,” said College
President Amy Storey. “The enhancements to our labs will significantly benefit not only our science majors, but also students in related programs such as Nursing, Occupational Therapy, and Adolescent Biology Education. And the IT and dining hall renovations will undoubtedly enhance the overall student experience.”

The HECap award is a matching grant, requiring the College to invest three dollars for every dollar received. The funds were awarded at the June 26 meeting of the HECap Board. The Jephson grant was announced on June 28, with additional details expected later this month. The AVI gift, which was also announced late last month, will see $50,000 invested in on-campus dining
facilities in each of the next three years.

“It’s crucial for colleges to cultivate strong educational partnerships that comprehensively support their students,” said President Storey. “We are grateful for these generous displays of support.
