If you are interested in learning to become a lifeguard, a local YMCA is offering two upcoming lifeguard training course sessions.
The training provided by the YMCA of Ithaca and Tompkins County will provide professional certifications for those looking to hold lifeguard positions at local pools. These two-day courses will take place on February 18th and 19th and April 8th and 9th. An additional review and recertification will take place March 19th for those who have previously completed the Red Cross Lifeguard Course.
Participants must be at least 15 years old before the end of the class and pass a series of prerequisite tests to demonstrate their abilities in the water.
