15 years in federal prison. That was the sentence handed down Wednesday by a U.S. District Court Judge to an Ithaca man, who is also a registered sex offender, for possessing child pornography.
Leroy Reed admitted that between February 2020 and March 2021, he used a computer to download child porn over the internet. A search of his apartment revealed Reed was in possession of 55 images and 94 video files containing child pornography. In addition to prison time, Reed was also sentenced to 20 years post-release supervision.
In 2002, Reed was convicted of rape involving a 15-year-old.
