SHARE NOW

A violent late Monday night into early Tuesday morning in the city of Ithaca saw one person get shot and another stabbed in two separate incidents.

Police say the shooting occurred at an apartment house in the 300 block of North Meadow Street at around 11 o’clock. An investigation determined multiple people entered the residence with one firing a handgun at the victim. The suspects then fled in a dark-colored SUV.

A short time later, police were called to an apartment house in the 600 block of Spencer Road for a stabbing. The victim, who was severely bleeding when police arrived, was taken to a regional trauma center and is expected to survive. The suspect fled prior to law enforcement’s arrival.

Investigators say at this time it does not appear that the two incidents are related. The victims appear to have been specifically targeted by the suspects.
