In a few days, the city of Ithaca will host a public meeting next week to gather feedback on potential Downtown Revitalization Initiative projects.
If awarded, $10 Million in funding would be allocated to support catalytic projects in downtown Ithaca intended to spur revitalization and community vibrancy. As part of that process, the City launched an open call for projects that closed on August 21st. To gather input from the public on the direction of the application and the potential projects, the City welcomes all residents, business owners, and community members to participate in a public meeting on Tuesday at 5:30 pm at the Tompkins County Public Library.
The public meeting will include both open house style feedback opportunities, as well as a presentation by the City and its consultants, MRB Group. The presentation will briefly overview
the DRI program, application progress made to date, and over 15 projects that were submitted during the call for projects. The City will also be seeking feedback on a municipally funded
project to enhance the streetscape and experience along the W State/MLK Jr. Street corridor and ideas for a small project fund. The public will also be able to provide feedback via an online survey that is posted on the application website
The input collected at this meeting will help the City, application steering committee, and consultants to solidify the vision and strategy for this DRI application, including the projects that will be featured in the application.
General comments and input will continue to be accepted on the application website throughout the process. Several polls and surveys will be launched through the site, and comments can be submitted at any time.
