Ithaca Police Investigating Gunshot Complaints

Two separate shots fired complaints that happened in the city of Ithaca Tuesday night are under investigation.

Police were called to the 500 block of Spencer Road at 10:22 p.m. when a witness in the area reported they were outside of an Elmira Road business when they heard several gunshots being fired from the area of Spencer Road. The witness said they ran back inside of the business and called 9-1-1. Three minutes later, another person reported hearing several gunshots and possibly seeing a muzzle flash from a firearm in the area of Cecil A. Malone Drive.

A search of both areas for evidence and victims by police came up empty.

Anyone who may have information regarding these incidents is encouraged to contact the Ithaca Police Department as soon as possible by the below listed means.

Residents in both areas are also encouraged to review any surveillance systems or doorbell cameras they may have that could have captured a shooting occurring at either location. It is currently unknown if the reported shootings are related, at this time an investigation into both incidents is ongoing.
