New York State Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect connected to a theft and fraud investigation spanning Tompkins and Cayuga counties.
According to investigators, the incident began on March 19, when a vehicle parked in Ithaca was broken into. Troopers say a purse left in plain view was stolen, containing the victim’s identification, checkbook, and credit cards.
Authorities say the following day, March 20, the same suspect traveled to two Cayuga Lake National Bank locations in Cayuga County, where she allegedly used the victim’s identification to withdraw a total of $13,500.

State Police are urging anyone who recognizes the individual pictured or has information about the case to come forward.
