The recipients of the 2023 Keuka College Donald and Corrine Stork Award were honored for their community service on Tuesday. At a luncheon held on the College’s campus, Alan “Herbie” and Lauren Snyder received their award from the Stork family in front of a room full of family, friends, and Yates County residents.

The couple has volunteered with many organizations over the years, including the Dundee Mobile Food Pantry, the Council on Alcoholism, and FLACRA. They also helped found Rainbow Junction. Herbie Snyder served as a Marine during two tours in Vietnam and Lauren is a former director of Yates County Public Health and a Medical Reserve Corps Volunteer.

The Stork Award was established in 1991 by Keuka College to recognize outstanding individuals who exemplify the College’s commitment to valuing individual initiative for the common good. The award was named after its first recipients, the late Donald and Corinne Stork.
