The ongoing legal battle between Greenidge Generation and the state DEC over the company’s air permit will continue with an evidentiary hearing next month in Albany.
The hearing at DEC headquarters is scheduled for June 10th, with additional hearing dates set for June 11 and June 24, with more to be scheduled if needed. The public may attend by presenting a photo ID at the DEC’s security desk.
Greenidge, a power plant near Seneca Lake owned by Atlas Holdings, has been fighting the DEC’s June 2022 denial of its Clean Air Act Title V permit renewal. A February appellate court decision denied Greenidge’s request to pause administrative proceedings, even as it challenges a lower court ruling that found legal errors in the DEC’s denial but allowed the agency to restart its review.
