Several local human service agencies are joining forces to support Steuben County residents in recovering from the severe flooding caused by last week’s Tropical Storm Debby. An additional Flood Relief Resource Center will be open on Monday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Steuben County Civil Defense Center in Bath.
Representatives from Arbor Housing and Development, Catholic Charities of Steuben/Livingston, and ProAction of Steuben and Yates Counties will be available to answer questions and assess eligibility for future financial assistance. Residents are encouraged to bring proof of residency and income, along with any estimates of damages.
Tim Marshall, the county’s Director of Public Safety, said if you have reported damages by calling 2-1-1, it’s crucial to attend one of these sessions. The 2-1-1 service can also connect residents with various other county programs and services, making it a vital resource for those in need.
This session aims to gather additional information to better assist those impacted by the flood. The event is open to anyone affected, but please note that you only need to attend one session, and services will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
