Traffic was backed up at times for about a mile on State Route 14 just outside of the village of Watkins Glen on Wednesday night after a fire broke out at the Longhouse Lodge Manor.

Several fire departments, including Dundee and Himrod, responded to the scene in the town of Reading when the fire broke out at around six o’clock. The fire reportedly damaged several vacant rooms and no injuries were reported.

Investigators remained on location after the fire was put out to try to determine a cause.

The southbound lane of 14 was closed and that  traffic was re-routed to Reading Center and then to Irelandville and Mudlake Roads south to Watkins Glen
