In response to the requirements that all power boat operators in New York have a Safe Boating License, the Saunders Finger Lakes Museum in Branchport is launching NY Safe Boating Courses.
NY State Guide and American Canoe Association certified instructor, Scott Janas, will offer the 8-hour classroom lesson at the museum campus. Individuals will learn the basic principles of safe and responsible boating, earning their boating certificate upon successful completion of the course. Courses will be held on the third Sunday of each month beginning in March and running through September, open to ages 10 and up.
Registration is now open and interested participants are encouraged to sign up early as space is limited.
