SHARE NOW

A two-car accident Sunday afternoon in Steuben County claimed the life of a Livingston County man.

State Police say Michael Hinrich of Nunda was attempting to turn left onto State Route 415 from Michigan Hollow Road when his Camaro was struck on the driver’s side door by a Buick driven by a 26-year-old Michael Eldridge, of Hornell. Hinrich was pronounced dead at the scene. Both front-seat passengers in the vehicles were flown to Strong Memorial Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and Eldridge was taken to Noyes Hospital in Dansville for his injuries.

State Police were assisted on the crash scene in Avoca by the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, Avoca Ambulance, Cohocton Ambulance, American Medical Response, and the Kanona Fire Department.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
