Dundee has submitted a completed application to the DEC for a new surface discharge permit for its wastewater treatment plant on Dundee-Glenora Road. The DEC has prepared a draft permit proposing to modify the village’s existing State Pollution Discharge Elimination System permit by removing the Capacity, Management, Operation, and Maintenance Plan (CMOM) requirement
According to the DEC, the proposed change is based on recent upgrades to the village’s treatment infrastructure and an updated overflow response plan, which addresses the original concerns that led to the CMOM requirement.
The modification involves Dundee’s existing State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (SPDES) permit (Permit No. NY0025445). A draft version of the updated permit, along with a fact sheet, is available for public review online at https://dec.ny.gov/fs/projects/draftpermits.
The project has been deemed an Unlisted Action under the State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) and is not expected to have a significant environmental impact. It is also exempt from the State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) review and is not located within a designated coastal management area.
Public comments on the proposed changes must be submitted in writing by August 1, 2025, to:
