The Dundee Fire Department is celebrating an extraordinary milestone, 70 years of service by longtime member Ray Miller.
Miller joined the department on August 20, 1955, and has dedicated seven decades to protecting and serving the community. Over the years, his leadership, experience, and commitment have left a lasting mark on both the department and the Village of Dundee.
Miller’s career is filled with accomplishments. He served multiple terms as Dundee’s fire chief and has been recognized as Firefighter of the Year by the department several times. In 1998, he received the inaugural Roger Ribble Firefighter of the Year Award in Penn Yan, and the following year, he was honored as Firefighter of the Year by the North Central Volunteer Firefighters’ Association.
Department officials say Miller’s service is not only a testament to his dedication but also an inspiration to future generations of volunteers.
“Thank you, Ray, for seven decades of service, friendship, and leadership,” the department shared in a post on its Facebook page. “Your legacy will continue to inspire all of us.”
